{March 7, 2012}   Pancreas Rejuvenator

Cyclists need to stay in shape. Cyclists need lots of greens, beans, whole grains, fruits and vegetables for optimum health. Juices and smoothie are a way to boost your energy.

This juice recipe was given to me by a local pharmacy shopkeeper. They say it was use by a patient with pancreas cancer and they recommend it highly. Good health and well-being to you all by the grace in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

What they say what is good for pancreas is good for the enitre body. I recommend this juice to everyone.

Pancreas Rejuvenatorgreen_smoothie

1 serving about 8 ounces

4 carrots
1 apple
4 to 5 lettuce leaves
3 ounces of string beans (approximately 3/4 cup)
3 ounces of Brussels sprouts (apporximately 3 to 4 sprouts)

Trim the carrots and cut them into 2-to-3-inch pieces. Process the carrot pieces in the juicer and set aside.
Cut the apple into narrow weddges. Process the apple wedges, lettuce leaves, string beans, and sprouts in the juicer. Combine the juices and mix well.

{March 7, 2012}   Ruby Red Pick-Me-Up

5 carrots

1/2 apple (minus seeds)

1/2 inch slice of fresh ginger root

1 small wedge of lemon

In the juicer juice the carrots, then the apple and ginger root. After juicing stir to mix well and add lemon wedge. The apple provides quick energy, while the carrots help sustain that energy over several hours. 200 calories per serving.

1 quart – coconut milk or 1 carton of organic yogurt

6 oz. frozen organic unsweetened lemonade (no concentrate)

16 oz. can of organic unsweetened fresh pineapple chunks

Mix all ingredients in a blender. Makes 5 8-oz. servings.

Papaya Smoothie

2 ripes papayas

1/2 c. orange juice

1/2 c. organic real vanilla yogurt

Peel, seed, and chop papaya. Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

1 slice lemon with rind

1 apple

1 beet

1 handful beet leaves

1 handful parsley

In a juice add all ingredients reserving the lemon rind. After juicing add lemon rind and lightly stir. This healthy juice will replenish the vital nutrients after a big sweat from extreme activity. The parsley, beets, and beet tops are rich in iron, while the natural sugars in the apple provide an instant energy lift. About 117 calories.

In a juicer juice the watermelon with rind and seeds. After juicing add small wedge of lemon or lime to drink. This is a great quencher for the summer and beating the heat. This is a great, potassium-rich hydrator. 125 calories per serving.
